From the liner notes by Pierluigi Basso Fossali: “[...] There are certain attitudes that can be clearly felt in Marco Momi’s music : rejections, privations, obsessive tests. The writing is solid, quick to eliminate the superfluous, but finds validation only through in vivo experimentation with the rendering of sound, that is, with its potential for exemplification. The score does not point to anything, or symbolize anything: even the instrumental artifice is geared to sound patterns that can be grasped by the most unschooled. For this reason, the composer’s anticonceptualist approach is poetically wedded to what is iconic, to what allocates its semantics to the naked possibility of fostering an inaugural diagram of relations. It thus relies on a listening experience of immediate impressions, ushering in a series of identifications or transpositions. But stressing the iconic element means leaving these subsequent operations to someone else, and building one’s exploration on the forms that emerge [...]”.
